May 2019

Greetings SMPS SeLA Community,

With spring well in season there is new energy blooming around us as well as in the SMPS Southeast Louisiana chapter. The past eight months the Board of Directors has been hard at work in monthly board meetings, participating in committee meetings, and last month hosting our first ever SeLA Mid-Year Re-Energizing Workshop. This group has been committed from Day 1 of this SMPS year to continue the momentum of creating professional development and market knowledge opportunities for our members whereby reinforcing the Society mission of Business Transformed through Marketing Leadership.

SeLA Mid-Year Re-Energizing Workshop.

For the first time since our chapter’s inception, we brought SMPS Headquarters Deputy CEO, Tina Myers and Society Past President, Nashville Chapter Past President and all around SMPS/AEC guru, Donna Corlew, CPSM, down to New Orleans to lead our current board and those on the 2019-2020 ballot through a day-long deep dive into our current chapter operations and strategies moving forward. It was an incredibly beneficial workshop and we are all eager to share with you some of the new practices and programming in the next SMPS year that begins September 1.

Board Election Results.

In addition to working hard to grow our chapter and its value to our members, the Nominations and Election Committee has spent the past few months devoted to securing the new Board Members for the 2019-2020 year. I am very excited and honored to announce the 2019-2020 SMPS SeLA Board of Directors below:
